Dollshe's New Look

Well, I got sick so the delay for Valentine Sleepwear has increased. And now, my mood is lost. I think my sister is right when she suggested I sell the sleepwear next year. The problem is, I dont know if I'll be here next year because I have plans to go to Korea. I'll see what summer holds for me. XD;

Anyway, onto the subject of this blog entry: Dollshe.

To be honest, I dont really like the new dollshe boys or bodies that has been out. The dollshe body 35 or dollshe body 33 (or whatever it is called) still looks like a body that's still a works in progress. The hands, compared to the old ones, looks almost amateurish. I really love the hands of the old dollshe body; they looked real and the details were gorgeous. The new ones look like alien hands; skinny with funny ball-like fingertips. His new head, Orijean(?) looks like an alien too. The eyes socket don't even look proportionate to the other features on the face. And the "almond" shape of the eyes are too slanted and big. :-/

The only doll that I am looking forward to see from Mr. Dollshe is Rosen (I think that's his name). He looked like a hybrid of Hound and Bermann (two of the dolls from Dollshe that I really liked). I really like Rosen's smile and his nose. However, I'm not sure I'd want to see that head on the current body tho. I'm hoping that Mr. Dollshe will continue to refine the body and make it more realistic yet aesthetically pleasing.

As for the old heads... so far, Saint and SA Saint have been released on the new body because they were popular. I dont know why Saint or SA Saint is so popular among Western bjd collectors... XD; He reminds me of my friend's boyfriend when he was in high school and I sure don't want a doll that looks like him around!

I will keep my eyes on Mr. Dollshe tho because I feel like he will make a doll I'd like, sooner or later. So, Dollshe will be a hit or miss with me. Unlike Soom and Iplehouse...with those two, I end up liking almost everything they make. LOL So their aesthetic coincides with me more. XD;

Funny thing tho, even tho I like Soom and Iplehouse so much, I end up having more Leeke dolls than Soom and Iplehouse. Why is that I wonder? XD;

Still Working on Sleepwear

My sis's bday is Valentine's Day and so she came down to spend her birthday with the family. I put family first, so I didn't get to finish the sleepwear outfits as I had planned.

I didn't start on the sleepwear right away after she went back up either because there was a Leeke Illustration contest deadline coming up. I decided to do that and now that I'm done with it, I went back to sewing the Valentine sleepwear clothes.

I wonder if people will buy it now that Valentine's Day is over? XD; Well, now that I have the time, I will not make the shop commission based and go with my original "ready-made-to-sell" idea. I did an official "trial"using one of the actual print and the clothes turned out slightly larger than the muslin version. Hm...I guess I miscalculated somewhere, so I'll have to go back and make another muslin. The trial also gave me a good idea of how many quantities to make. I've decided to go with 2 outfits for the guys (possibly just one clothes per size) and probably 2 outfits for the girls (I'm not sure about quantity as I haven't drafted the patterns for her yet). The 2 outfit per gender reduces some outfits I had planned. It's okay tho cuz I'll just use those idea for future clothes. ^^

And since Valentine's Day is over, I'm going to incorporate the sleepwear into Triple S Fashion. In other words, I'll be opening Triple S Fashion soon! :) Triple S Fashion clothes are still under construction though. It's mostly menswear like collar tops, dress tops, slacks, dress pants, blazers, ties plus some casual wears like sweaters and jeans. I've thought of some "creative" styles too. As of now, I'm coming close to perfecting the short sleeved collar shirt as a good fit for Iplehouse YID boys (which thankfully fits my other 60cm boys and to some extent my 70cm boys). So short sleeved collar tops will be sold along the Valentine Sleepwear clothes. I had wanted pants and blazers too, but I think those will have to come later. ^^;

Now back to sewing and drafting... XD;

Valentine Sleepwear for Him and Her Progress

You know, I should update here more often now that I have free time. I guess we shall see :)

Well, I changed the splash page back to Touji. ^^

As of now, I'm currently working on "Valentine Sleepwear for Him and for Her". Drafting patterns and testing them have been challenging so far. I just finished with pj bottoms for Super Senior Delf and Hound the other day and yesterday, I started on the tank top pattern for Iplehouse YID. My sister gave me a better idea for the design, so I redrafted the pattern and pattern tested the top yesterday. I started at 6PM and didn't finish until 10PM... Most of the time, I was just undoing stitches and restitching and rethreading my serger...I am slow, so doing all that ate up a lot of time. However, I am learning a lot of things about sewing, so that was a very good experience. :)

Today, I shall be fixing up the tank top pattern. I plan to start sewing a couple Iplehouse YID pj bottoms so they will be ready for the photoshoot tomorrow. I still have to draft patterns "For Her" and I want to atleast finish a set so she can also be ready for the photoshoot tomorrow. I'm a bit behind schedule because I didn't expect to be that slow. haha *sweat*

I had planned to make my clothes already-mad- to-sell, but if I want to open by Valentine, at this rate, I will have to make a couple samples and open it up for commissions, which I don't want to do, but is the best option as of now.

Lets hope I am more productive today since I will not have time tomorrow. *crossesfingers*

Anyway, here's a peek at the materials/prints that will be available on Valentine's Day~ :)

Clothes and Touji

Jerome is on the splash page, but it's hard to see the text. Well, I'll fix that later.

Anyways, I'm still sewing clothes for my boys. I'm definitely understanding it a lot better than I did before. I did several pants from 3 different patterns. They really helped concerning length and width. I haven't tried zippers, back pockets, and waistline with belt holdings (?) yet. I'll get there. I've done some rough capris, sweat pants , tanks and long sleeved shirts so far. Doing those have helped me understand sewing a little bit more. Plus I have books for reference and guide. I hope to churn out some nice casual wear for my boys soon. :3

Also, I finally gotten Touji's character down! This is truly a Snow Prince befitting of his name, Touji ( 冬慈 ) with "tou" meaning "winter" and "ji" meaning "merciful". Together the word means, "winter solstice".

Iplehouse's New Dolls for August

Iplehouse's new girls, Harin and Freezia are gorgeous! *______________*

I really like Harin and I'm itching to buy her. I'm so glad that I decided not buy the dolls from Luts and Feeple cuz now I've got money. :D I just fear her price..please let it be affordable! *hopeshopeshopes* I hope there will be more information about her today too. :D

Now I'm looking forward to their new boys, Ryushin and Barron. I have no idea how they'll look like, but I'm guessing they'll look similar to any of these boys :Lion or Soo Ri. Cuz Harin and Freezia faces look similar to Sylvia and Louis. Oh~ I really can't imagine how the new boys will look like. *excited* Just by their names, Ryushin will probably have an Oriental outfit and Barron will have a European one. I'm not too fond of the European outfits, so I hope it looks good. If not, then I hope the dolls becomes a general type. ^^

Speaking of outfits, I really like the clothes for new Volks Tohya's. I'd love to get it, but I dont know if it'll fit my boys, so I'm not going to risk it.

Well, I guess work and school will keep me busy while I wait for these new dolls to be released. ^_______^

Nanuri gets a Faceup! :D

So today, I did Nanuri's faceup. :D Now I need to come up with an appropriate name for him....

He came yesterday and I took pictures. :D He's got no faceup because I've been busy. It'll probably take like 20 tries until I get the perfect faceup too. XD; I didnt think of a name either but I'll create one when I get his faceup done. It'll be easier this way instead of giving them names that dont match. XD;

There's like nothing to do at 10PM, even online. >_> Well I'm waiting for my pictures to print so I decided to write in here to just kill time and get in the mood to do my homework.

Anyways, the AoD boy body is coming! At first, I feared that it got lost on its way, but after checking the EMS status, I learned the body is coming here from SF! :D I'm not used to seeing EMS go out of customs from SF. I usually ordered from Korea and it goes to LA. Since its from China, it looks like the stuff goes to SF. How strange. Maybe certain countries have certain location about customs? The good news is that the body should be at my door tomorrow morning before I head off to work. :D

I really hope the head will be here tomorrow too! Maybe the postman will bring both?? Oh~ I'm very excited! ^^

Touji: Make Over

I gave Touji a new faceup. It's so out of character, but I'd have to say that this is my most complete faceup I've done. I still need to practice brushstrokes. And the new eyes that I've got him makes him look really freaky. So far acrylic eyes aren't suitable. I guess this means I've got to get the silicones ones. >_>; Anyways, here's Touji:

While I adore Sei and Touji, they have their disadvantages. For Sei, his size makes it's hard for me to take full body pictures and Touji's body makes it hard for me to make him good looking clothes that most of the time, I end up taking pictures of his face. -_-; They're both heavy too, both weighing around 5lbs so it's inconvienent to carry them around.

Now I want smaller dolls. :3 Well I have 2 msd boys that I really want and I think they'll be the next dolls I get. One is a CP Kid Delf boy Bory. I like him as he is in Luts' page so he'll look like the default. The next boy is a Latidoll Lucas. I dont know when I'll get him cuz Latidoll always seem to be restocking. I dont like their default, but I love their premium makeup service cuz they have so many options! So I'll order Rucas with a faceup. <3 I know that I said I was gonna get DM Claudia, but I dont feel inclined to buy her yet. I still want Abadon as Touji's bodyguard so I think I'll get him before I get her. When all three of them assembled, I'd be able to play with them! :3

Omg, I checked Dollmore last night and they have a new shoe item that I want! *_______* It's comfortable loafers that comes in white or black. The sizes are SD and Model. I want them for my boys, preferabbly both sizes. The price looks good too but I want all four so that's going to cost a lot. I hope the demand is high enough for those shoes so they'll always have it in stock. *cross fingers*

If only Leekeworld was like this...they have really nice shoes too. But I can't tell if they'll fit my boys. Unlike Dollmore, which lists the precise size of the shoe's length and the width, Leekeworld just says, "SD". SD could mean anything! XD; I dont want to spend $40-$50 on shoes that will not fit my boys. But oh, the shoes look so good!!!

On another note, I wont be buying Kyle from DM and I'll remove him from the list. I do like Haneol, so he's going to stay on my list. I looked at Soom's Mecha Angel website and noticed that they plan to make 3 more Mecha Angel dolls. This means that Sei can have a companion that's his height too! He'll have a soulmate after all!!! Now all I have to do is wait and save up for them. At this point, there is no information about them. I hope they're good looking. :3

Speaking of 70cm dolls, Tensiya raised their price up. That sucks....Well I guess if TS sells for $600 and IP sells for $605, I'll go for IP since they're faster. XD;

Ah, gotta save save save.

For my summer break, I went home and used my mom's sewing machine. I was able to churn out two outfit. One for each boy. :( Touji's outfit is incomplete, hence the muslin top. I made the jeans so I could test how well the shirt matches with the jeans. XD;; Touji's original outfit is suppose to look like Sei's but instead of black pants and jacket, it's dark teal. I have another outfit drawn out for Touji tho so I think I might work on that before I do his jacket. (It was hard enough making Sei's >_<)

I wanna cry

I wanna cry because I chipped Touji's nose when I went to get him outside after the MSC spray. I dont want to sand him cuz his nose look will look different! And Iplehouse has one of the most hottest profiles after the Bermanns. *sigh* I'm thinking of getting him another head replacement. I dont think I'll sell the head, instead I'll make it into another character, Touji's bad twin. :D I guess I'll be ordering another Soo Ri in the future and I wanted to reduce my doll list. U_U

Anyways, here's the new faceup with the chipped nose. I guess I'll just photoshop future pictures. :(

PS - The blue eyes that I ordered for Touji should be in this week. :)

MSC came in yesterday so I did his faceup. The feel is totally different from all my practice faceups and the result's definitely different too. XD;; When I realized how red he looked because I over blushed him, I tried to wash his cheeks to lessen the color, but with no luck. XD; There were too many coating of MSC. XD;;; In the end, I scratched his left cheek a bit. It's visible to the naked eye, but oh well. ^^;;; I'm too lazy to redo him and I'm press for time cuz I wanted to give him a faceup before I go home so he'll look decent for my sisters. So I'm going to keep this faceup for the time being.^^;

Well, with this faceup, Touji's not photogenic at all! XD; He only looks good in bright light (maybe its cuz I did his faceup in bright light? -_-;;) and with flash. Other than that, he's very red in pictures with dim lights. I like him in RL tho...He's not that red. Atleast, I think not. XD; Well I've purposedly selected the good pictures to save you guys from the horror of the girly red. hahaha

Also with this faceup, Touji is totally out of character. At certain angle, he has a mocking look and at certain angle, he looks angry and upset. ^^; He also looks girly with all that blush. XD; I'm tempted to make him cute shorts and clothings....:P (On a random but similar note, I made him underwear shorts! yay! ^o^)

Anyways, the brows will be more refined when I get watercolor pencils. That wont be any time soon. ^^;;

PS - I decided that I want Abadon as Touji's bodyguard instead of Lion (I also contemplated Latidoll M too). I fell in love with one done by comicboiartist on DoA and I thought, "He's perfect!" *_* I really like the faceup he gave his Abadon so I've completely eliminated 2 dolls from my wishlist. Whew~ I've been trying to narrow the list down. ^^;

Touji w/o Face up + Creepy Photoshoot

Well, I wiped off Touji's face up, but there are still bits in the crevices of his mouth and eyes. I also noted that the specks and particle on his face are underneath the MSC layer so I couldnt get them off right away. -_-; I'll be buying Mr. Clean Magic Sponge and non-acetone nailpolisher to get it off so I'll be doing more scrubbing today... If it doesnt come off today, tomorrow I'll try and get the W&N brush cleaner stuff, but I have pink soap, which is also brush cleaner and it didnt come so easily. I hope that the W&N stuff is stronger. If all fails, I'll have resort to sandpaper. :(

But I did take some pictures of his partial faceup last night. He looks rather good in it. hahaha It gives me a new image of him and that'll make it easier for me get his an idea of his faceup. :D

Anyway, these are his correct eyes. They looked big and awkward when I first put them in, but after a few adjustment, they look better. :D I still like him with smaller eyes tho...

Sei's New Look

The wigs and shoes came in yesterday! My housemate picked up the packages so when I came home, I was really surprised!!! ^________^ I hope Touji's head comes in today~ :3 Kym said that he'll be here by Friday, but she never really told me that she had shipped him. ^^; I'll just keep my fingers cross that he comes in today. *crosses fingers*

The new wig fits comfortably well~ But its too white...I should have gotten silver. Oh well. XD Anyway, this new wig makes him look cleaner and I like that. He'll need that look for his suits. :3
